Koch Records has formed a new jazz/adult division and named Chuck Mitchell as the head of the unit.

Mitchell, who was a former president of Verve Records, will join Koch as VP of jazz and adult music. He will be based in New York and report to Bob Frank, president of Koch.

Mitchell will spearhead A&R and marketing efforts for a roster with such artists as Earl Klugh, Bob James, Jean-Luc Ponty, Michael Franks, Marcus Miller and Oleta Adams, among others.

Previously, Mitchell served as president at Verve Records from 1996-1999. Most recently, Mitchell has worked as a consultant for a variety of record labels, and has supervised video/film production for many musical artists, including multi-platinum vocalists Joss Stone and Norah Jones.
