The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced that Calgary, Alberta will host the 2008 Juno Awards on April 6, 2008.

"There is an extraordinary energy in Calgary right now and we are thrilled that the 2008 JUNO Awards will be part of this renaissance happening in the West," said Melanie Berry, CARAS president.

This year's Juno Awards take place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The televised show on April 1 is being hosted by Nelly Furtado with performances by Billy Talent, the Tragically Hip, k-os, Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, City and Colour, and Gregory Charles.
