Last year, Westin Hotels & Resorts tapped independent music digital retailer eMusic to create a signature music program for its more than 100 properties around the world. Today, the partnership grows with a new element added to the music program. In addition to creating the aural landscapes for Westin's 127 properties, "eMusicologist" Richard Gehr now develops "Westin playlists," powered by eMusic, that can be purchased at westinmusic.com. The playlists range from relaxed, chill-out sounds to energized, gym-ready music.

Such a platform allows the Starwood-owned Westin to further connect with its
guests on an emotional level. "Westin Music was designed to represent the global voice of Westin and allow our guests and consumers to experience their own moments of renewal and escape through music," says Sue Brush, senior VP of Westin Hotels.

Conversely, eMusic is poised to pick up some new customers. eMusic pays a bounty for any customer it acquires via Westin Music. And for a limited time, visitors to the Westin Music site can download 50 free tracks from eMusic's catalog.
