RealNetworks has a new head of its music division. The company named Philip O'Neil senior VP of music replacing music chief Dan Sheeran, who is taking a new role in the organization.

O'Neil is based in Seattle and reports to Real CEO Rob Glaser. He most recently was chief operating officer for Vivendi Universal Games, overseeing a $700 million business in North America and Europe anchored by titles like "World of Warcraft." Over the course of his career he has also served stints with The Gallo Winery, Fresh Express Farms and PepsiCo.

Sheeran, who served as the head of Real's music business for the last two years, is moving into a new role of senior VP, corporate partnerships and business development. He reports directly to Rob Glaser.
