A California court has awarded k.d. lang $1.9 million in a default judgment against her former business manager, Annabel Lapp.

The Grammy-winning singer sued Lapp and her Annabel Lapp Group in 2005, claiming that the business manager misappropriated funds. She claimed in the suit that Lapp represented her from 1999 to 2005.

According to the default judgment filed March 22 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the award was entered because Lapp failed to respond to the lawsuit. The award of $1,921,673 was based on evidence presented by lang in a sworn declaration.
