Manager/booking agent Ben Dickey has left his post as an agent at Ground Control Touring to open a new booking division at his Los Angeles-based management company Constant Artists.

His company will oversee booking duties for Explosions in the Sky, Okkervil River, I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness and the Paper Chase -- all of which Dickey takes with him from Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Ground Control Touring.

Along with the move, Dickey tells that indie act Spoon has left Ground Control Touring, and is now represented by William Morris Agency's Sam Kirby, who books such acts as Björk, TV on the Radio and M.I.A.

Constant Artists management roster includes Spoon, Mates of State, Okkervil River, Explosions in the Sky, Eric Bachmann and Crooked Fingers.

Dickey, who prior to working at Ground Control Touring owned Austin, Texas-based Falsetto Agency, says that having a management company and booking agency under the same roof is an ideal situation. "A lot of it's being able to streamline services for our clients," Dickey says.

He adds that the new division is looking to hire another agent, and will slowly seek out new clients. "We grow as necessary," he says. "We're building up more of an infrastructure now than we had before, so as that increases, the capacity for taking on new clients increases."

In addition, Dana West, who previously served as an assistant at Ground Control Touring, has become an associate artist manager at Constant Artists, where she will work on both the agency and management side.
