Universal Music Group has licensed content to mobile content company Flycell, which just launched a new digital entertainment wireless application protocol (WAP) storefront.

As an open standard similar to HTML, the WAP store can be access from any mobile phone and does not require direct deals with wireless operators.

The site gives customers who pay a $10 monthly subscription fee 20 credits to spend on various types of mobile content, which can be then stored to an online locker and transferred to different devices.
