Police officers in Toronto moved quickly on Tuesday to tackle a man who allegedly threatened to kill singer/actress Hilary Duff during her appearance on a Canadian television program. Duff was in Toronto promoting her latest release "Dignity."

Duff was being interviewed by MuchMusic host Leah Miller on "Live @ Much" when a man in the crowd on the street outside the studio began shouting at the 19-year-old star. According to an eyewitness, the unidentified man vowed to kill Duff, prompting several police officers to tackle him.

"The cops slammed his face into the pavement," says an eye witness "He was bleeding."

However, there is no report of an arrest being made.
