Sources have confirmed rumors that rapper Eminem is in negotiations with Live Nation to lease and operate the 818-capacity St. Andrews Hall in downtown Detroit.

Live Nation would not comment on the deal, but reports suggest that the Detroit rapper and his manager Paul Rosenberg are working out a deal that would give Eminem control of the venue's liquor license and day-to-day operations.

Live Nation, which owns and operates the hall, would retain property rights and booking control. The deal could be finalized as quickly as next month, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Eminem performed at St. Andrews Hall early in his career, and it was featured in his semi-autobiographical 2002 film "8 Mile," but the rapper's interest in the venue still remains unclear.

A spokesperson for Eminem did not respond for comment at press time.
