Nine Inch Nails relied heavily on a digital marketing strategy to set-up the band's latest album Year Zero, a strategy which continues even after its April 17 street date.

The band April 26 placed three news tracks on its Web site in multitrack format, allowing fans to download and remix the songs. The tracks "Capital G," "My Violent Heart," and "Me, I'm Not" are also available in Garageband. Prior to the album's release band mastermind Trent Reznor posted multitrack files March 13 for the single "Survivalism" on the band's Web site.

Reznor is a big proponent of giving fans to "reconstruct/deconstruct" his songs, as he puts it, and plans to let fans to upload their creations to the site soon.

Eventually, every song on the album will be available for fans to remix.
