Actor Roberta Reardon has been elected as AFTRA national president to complete the remainder of the term of John Connolly, who resigned in March. Her term runs to July 2007.

Reardon began her career performing in daytime dramas, and has since appeared in hundreds of commercials and industrial films. She has performed in New York and regional theater, and has has taught as faculty for the School for Film and Television.

National elections will be held in July during a celebration of AFTRA's 70th Anniversary in Philadelphia.
