Mexican authorities and IFPI officials conducted two major anti-piracy raids, May 8 and May 12, which resulted in the seizure of more than 8 million CD covers, hundreds of burners and 200,000 CDRs.

Approximately 300 police units and 15 prosecutors from the Mexican Attorney General's office participated in the seizure. In all, 15 warehouses and 16 labs were raided in Mexico City and seven warehouses and 11 labs in Guadalajara.

Both raids targeted operations that were supplying both pirated music and film throughout Mexico. These actions are in keeping with the new Mexican administration's anti-piracy policy and commitment to action.
