In a move that gives mun2 a higher profile in its new home market, the Latino youth entertainment channel is partnering with Los Angeles' flagship Telemundo affiliate for a summer concert series.

The free concerts by emerging Latin artists, dubbed "Descarga en CityWalk con Telemundo y mun2," kick off July 1 on an outside stage at Universal CityWalk, a shopping and dining area adjacent to Universal Studios. Mun2 opened its production studios on CityWalk earlier this year.

Though the weekly Sunday concerts won't be televised in their entirety, Telemundo affiliate KVEA will broadcast highlights and occasionally have the artists on KVEA's morning show.

Some of the "Descarga" artists booked through Aug. 26 include Upground, Sello Colombiano, Casa de Leones, Yahir, Crisantes, Los Hermanos Macias and Pastilla. The concerts will be hosted by a rotating cast of mun2 and Telemundo personalities, such as mun2' Crash and Yasmin ("The Chicas Project") and Telemundo's Penelope Menchaca ("12 Corazones").
