With music stars set to trumpet the message of eco awareness at the
worldwide July 7 Live Earth concerts, organizers now have enlisted the help of Hollywood with the launch of a series of green public service announcements starring celebrities like Will Ferrell and Tobey Maguire.

In the short black-and-white spots, the stars illustrate various earth-friendly tips both common (Josh Lucas reminds us to turn off unused lights) and quirky (Emily Blunt heats only enough tea for her cup instead of filling the kettle). Ben Affleck and Holly Hunter's spots both highlight downloading music as a way to reduce costs associated with manufacturing and shipping CDs. Robert Patrick, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, director Peter Chelsom and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are among the other celebrities who have made PSAs.

As previously reported, Live Earth will feature 24 hours of performances from around the world by musical luminaries including The Police, Dave Matthews Band, Madonna, Genesis and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The event, which was spearheaded by Al Gore, will be broadcast
online, on TV, and on the radio.
