The music industry's desire to go green is also going virtual. Taking a cue from the organizers of the Live Earth festival, virtual world Zwinktopia is holding its won full-day "concert" on July 7 to also raise awareness of environmental issues.

Stage-Z, as the event is called, will feature several artists appearing in avatar form to introduce their music videos and conduct interviews on the issue of global warming and other environmental concerns. No actual performances, real or virtual, are expected.

Participating artists include Kelly Rowland, Anthrax's Scott Ian, Lil Mama, Hinder, Teddy Geiger and Jordan McCoy.

The Zwinktopia world claims some 7 million members.
