Developers of the upcoming Rock Band videogame have established a music advisory board to help the select the artists, albums and tracks to include in the game's soundtrack. "Little Steven" Van Zandt has been named the head of the advisory group. No other members have been announced.

In addition, Rock Band developers MTV Networks and its subsidiary Harmonix released a list of the first five tracks to be featured in the game. They include The Hives "Main Offender," The Strokes "Reptilian," Rush "Tom Sawyer," David Bowie "Suffragette City, " and Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper." All save "Tom Sawyer" are master recording tracks.

The Rock Band videogame allows players to assume one of four band member on either guitar, bass, drums or lead vocals and "play" along to the songs on the soundtrack using virtual instruments. It is scheduled to be released this holiday season.
