Cable TV music service provider DMX has teamed with MusicNet to create a new digital music service called Sonic Tap. The service will offer subscription music plans, a la carte downloads, and online access to users' personal music collections.

In addition to its cable TV digital music network, DMX provides music and other multimedia services to clients such as Nike, 24-Hour Fitness, the Wynn Hotel & Casino and American Eagle, among others. DMX plans to offer the Sonic Tap solution to these clients, which they can then brand as their own digital music service.

No timeline was given for when the service will go live.
