New York's Hip-Hop/R&B radio station Hot 97 (WQHT) is kicking off a "Go Green" initiative to raise awareness within the Hip-Hop community about Global Warming.

Beginning tomorrow (Oct. 5th) and continuing every first Friday of the month thereafter, the station will use the airwaves to spread the word about Global Warming initiatives through celebrity interview, endorsements of local initiatives, PSA's, personal testimonials and more.

In addition, the Hot97 Web site will feature special monthly "green" content, including where listeners can go to volunteer. The station is also encouraging other outlets wanting to get environmental messages or services promoted on the air, to fax their requests in.
