For the first time in a career that spans more than two decades, Puerto Rican pop singer Chayanne has canceled performances. In the midst of his "Mi Tiempo" tour, Chayanne was forced to give an early close to a show before 50,000 people at the River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires, citing health issues. Chayanne sang four songs the evening of Oct. 5 before announcing he was unable to continue because his vocals chords were irritated and he could barely continue singing.

In the coming weeks, Chayanne will announce a new date for that show, and for two others scheduled to take place in Argentina this week. Once he recuperates, Chayanne is slated to continue touring through the end of the year. His River Plate show will in all likelihood be rescheduled for the end of October.
