Lucy Hood has resigned from her role as CEO of Fox Mobile/Jamba, the mobile content division of NewsCorp. COO Lee Fenton will take over as interim CEO until a replacement is found.

No official reason was given for the departure, but Hood expressed a desire to "pursue more entrepreneurial ventures" in a company statement announcing the departure.

NewsCorp holds the majority stake in Jamba, which it co-owns with Verisign. Online speculation says the company is seeking a more European-centric role for the division, and the majority of its sales and activities take place there rather than in the U.S., where Hood was based.
