Colombian superstar Shakira has contributed three original songs to the upcoming film “Love in the Time of Cholera,” an adaptation of the Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel that hits theaters Nov. 16.

Shakira’s songs are “Despedida,” the bolero “Hay Amores” and “Pienso en Ti,” a song from her “Pies Descalzos” album. The two new songs feature lyrics, music and production by Shakira, with Antonio Pinto (“City of God”) and Pedro Aznar co-writing the music and co-producing.

There are no plans for a physical release of the soundtrack, though Shakira’s songs may get a digital release.

Shakira will perform the songs in Las Vegas on Nov. 6 as a benefit for her Pies Descalzos foundation, which assists needy children and families in Colombia. The performance will be followed by the film’s premiere at the Palms Casino Resort’s Brenden Theatres.

The Stone Village Pictures-produced movie is distributed by New Line Cinema, with an all-star cast that includes Oscar nominees Javier Bardem and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
