Boosey & Hawkes has licensed the Orchard to digitally sell the music publisher's library of more than 100,000 tracks, with effect from December.

Boosey & Hawkes Production Music, the media arm of the specialist classic and jazz music publisher Boosey & Hawkes, today unveiled the exclusive partnership for its entire production music library, which contains the Cavendish, Sonoton and Abaco Music works.

"This is a significant deal for us and our composers," said Michael Shaw, head of media at Boosey & Hawkes, in a statement.

"It marks not only a new direction for the company but also a new revenue stream," he adds. "Selling recordings direct to consumers is not something expected from music publishers, but high demand from the public trying to purchase our tracks has led us to this decision."

Orchard president and CEO Greg Scholl says the offering "will resonate with a large number of consumers previously unable to purchase these songs."
