Personalized Web radio service Pandora added four new features designed to expand the social listening experience online.

The first provides real-time song and artist information, recommends similar songs (rather than just playing them) and lists other Pandora members who have similar musical tastes. Building off that, it also takes a page from the Web. 2.0 book and now allows users to keep track of their friends who also use Pandora and interact with them via the service. Third, it has created 100 pre-set stations based on various genres for users who want to discover new types of music. And finally, it added a series of original audio and video programming called "Pandora Presents."

According to founder Tim Westergren, the moves are the beginning of what he says is a larger vision for the Pandora service geared towards not only more discover, but also interaction and, eventually, commerce.
