Livenation.com has launched a new feature that offers fans a virtual view of the stage from seats at the majority of its amphitheaters across the country.

The animated 3-D seat maps are designed to give fans a realistic view of the venue prior to purchasing concert tickets. "Our new maps provide music fans with a direct link to their seat, wherever it may be in the venue, in just seconds," says Bryan Perez, global digital president at Live Nation.

The new Web site feature was developed in collaboration with Ballena Technologies, a company specializing in venue and event 3-D visualization.

Livenation.com is currently providing virtual seat maps for 36 of its sheds, including Mountain View, Calif.'s Shoreline Amphitheatre, Irvine, Calif.'s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and Boston's Bank of America Pavilion. The company expects to unveil 3-D seat maps for additional venues in the coming year.
