On the heels of this week's announcement of a winter Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood tour, another star pairing is preparing to hit the road around the same time.

Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson will team for the 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour, kicking off Jan. 17 in Dayton, Ohio. The outing will visit 15 markets through Feb. 16 in Kansas City, Mo., tickets for some shows begin going on sale Nov. 30.

McEntire and Clarkson became acquainted during sessions for the former's "Reba Duets," which spawned a collaborative cover of Clarkson's "Because of You."

The duet was not what the pair had originally recorded for the project. Rehearsing for a CMT "Crossroads" special, McEntire's husband/manager Narvel Blackstock noticed a spark between the two on Clarkson's song.

"Narvel came up to the stage and said, 'Reba, you've got to record this for the duet project,' " McEntire told Billboard recently. "I talked to Kelly and she said, 'Right on. Let's do it.' So we went back into the studio and recorded it."

Before 2 Worlds 2 Voices, Clarkson has her own shows on tap through early December. She will also tour Australia and the United Kingdom in March.
