Manny Miravete has been appointed VP of Hispanic sales and strategy for MySpace.

The newly-created position is intended to develop advertising targeted to the social network's Hispanic users, which the company says number 8.2 million monthly, according to comScore.

Miravete, formerly an account director for AOL Latino's eastern region, will manage relationships with brands and advertising agencies for the site. One project under his purview is the new McDonald's-sponsored Mi Concierto site on MySpace, which features exclusive performances from Latin artists at U.S. venues.

MySpace launched its Spanish-language U.S. Latino and Latin American portals earlier this year.
