Chicago rap group Crucial Conflict returns with its first studio album in nine years, “Planet Crucon” (pronounced Crew-con). Distributed by Select-O-Hits, the Buckwild Records Entertainment release arrives in stores Jan. 29.

Comprising crew members Coldhard, Wildstyle, Kilo and Never, Crucial Conflict is best known for its fast-paced melodic flow, nicknamed “rodeo style.” In 1996, the group notched No. 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “Hay” (No. 18 on The Billboard Hot 100). The hit single was featured on the group’s first album, “The Final Tic” (No. 5 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, No. 12 Billboard 200), which sold 674,000 units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
