Ad-supported free streaming music service Imeem has acquired the Web music player and Internet radio station Anywhere.fm. The company says it bought the company for its music uploading capabilities, music player interface, and recommendation features. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The Anywhere.fm applications allows users to upload MP3 files from their library to the Web and then stream them from any browser, similar to a digital locker. Friends can also stream the music. Imeem says the technology and
functionality will be integrated into its social networking service.
