Music search engine Gimado has raised $300,000 in investment funding, according to social networking news site Mashable.com.

Gimado launched in January and claims to work like Google or Yahoo, allowing users to do a search for MP3 files on the Internet. Gimado doesn’t host the files itself.

The service is similar to Seeqpod, which is being sued by Warner Music Group.
