According to data from an internal audit by content syndication provider Handango, entertainment is the top category of content purchased by smartphone users in 2007, up from third place in 2006.

Entertainment consisted of 17% of total sales, while business/professional related content dropped from first place at 18% in 2006 to second at 16%. BlackBerry mobile applications experienced triple-digital growth, with 136% more applications added to the Handango network in 2007 over 2006.

The top-selling application was Ringtone Megaplex, a third-party ringtone library, following by various games.
