Loeb & Loeb has launched a new practice group for new media and technology clients. Media and advertising partner Ken Florin will chair the group.

The national emerging media and technology practice group has almost 20 attorneys in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. They have expertise in new media, technology, entertainment and intellectual property law.

"The formalization of this team of attorneys recognizes the unique amalgamation of legal talent we have at Loeb to serve clients involved in every aspect and type of new media venture," says Florin.

In 2007, Loeb & Loeb represented Comcast in a multimillion-dollar display advertising placement deal with Yahoo!, which makes Yahoo! the sales representative to national buyers for the majority of display advertising on the Comcast.net Web site. Attorneys on the team also obtained a preliminary injunction on behalf of Comcast, which halted the airing of two major national advertising campaigns by rival DIRECTV.

Team attorneys have been involved in other transactions in the field, including establishing wireless platform for one of the nation's largest banks and development of the alrgest user generated content platform.

"The range of work we've been doing in the space speaks to our qualifications and capacities in the field," says John Frankenheimer, Loeb & Loeb co-chairman. "There's no part of the business we haven't touched."

The practice group is offering services in connection with Internet business and interactive media regulation; mobile/cellular technology; talent representation and placement; cross-industry promotion and co-branding; music and visual content agreements; patent, copyright, trademark and intellectual property matters; tracking federal and state developments, enforcement actions and litigations; and identifying business development and networking opportunities for clients.
