Veteran U.K. R&B/funk/acid jazz group Incognito has signed with Heads Up International. A division of Concord Music Group, the crossover jazz label plans a worldwide release of the group's debut album, "Tales From the Beach," on June 24.

The 15-track set was recorded in Italy, Germany, Indonesia and London. It takes its title from founder/frontman Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick's musical inspiration as a child growing up on the South African island of Mauritius.

Incognito first attracted attention in 1981 with its debut album, "Jazz Funk." Since then, the group’s lineup has rotated frequently and has
included such notable singers as Jocelyn Brown (who sang on the group's 1991 U.K. hit single, a cover of Ronnie Laws' "Always There"), Imaani and Maysa Leak. To date, Incognito has released a total of 12 albums, including the 2006 "Bees + Things + Flowers."
