Having already left his role at Yahoo Music, Ian Rogers has made a complete split with Yahoo by joining digital music startup Topspin. Details of the new company are rather vague -- its Web site only reveals that it is designed to "help independent artist make a living."

Rogers stopped overseeing the Yahoo Music service directly some months ago when he became VP of Media Applications and Video, although he still oversaw some elements of the company's music strategy. Karin Gilford is Yahoo's head of entertainment, and oversees the Yahoo Music division.
