Expanding its video-on-demand (VOD) offerings, multiplatform music network Music Choice kicks off a new series of thematic, episodic programming in April with the original four-part series, "Who Runs Hip-Hop?"

Each "VOD-isode" within this special focus on the hip-hop industry will address the question from four viewpoints: the artist, record label, consumer and digital media. Narrated by DJ Khaled, the series features interviews with Snoop Dogg (also Music Choice's Artist of the Month for April), Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, 50 Cent, Jim Jones and Dame Dash.

Sponsored exclusively by Boost Mobile, each thematic program will run for 30 days and will be made available as encore presentations the following month for another 30 days. Upcoming thematic campaigns scheduled through the end of the year include "Summer Heat," "Back to School," "Country Music Month" (November) and "Most Demanded," a year-end music recap encompassing the top viewer-chosen videos of the year.

"This is the first time that Music Choice has produced original content on a weekly basis," says Lamonda Williams, director of urban and Latin
programming. "We wanted to find a way to deliver on-demand content on a much more consistent basis by taking one topic or theme and breaking it into different parts for weekly on-demand episodes. This is a model we look to continue."

Comprising more than 50 channels of commercial-free music, videos, exclusive interviews and other content, Music Choice is available via digital cable systems, high-speed Internet and mobile phones.
