-- Original Earth, Wind & Fire members Maurice White and Philip Bailey will receive honorary doctor of music degrees at from Boston’s Berklee College of Music during the school’s commencement exercises on May 10. Bailey will also double as commencement speaker. Joining the pair as honorary doctorate recipients will be singer and former Blind Faith member Steve Winwood, composer and Berklee alumnus Howard Shore and Brazilian artist Rosa Passos. On May 8, Winwood will also perform a special concert at the Berklee Performance Center.

-- The promotion wheels are gearing up for Chanté Moore’s first album under the Peak Records/Concord Music Group banner. “Love the Woman” is set to bow May 20 and features production contributions from Warryn Campbell, Raphael Saadiq and George Duke. Lead single “It Ain’t Supposed to Be This Way” goes for adds at urban AC on May 12. Moore, married to fellow singer Kenny Lattimore, charted her biggest hit in 1999 with the No. 2 R&B and No. 10 pop single “Chanté’s Got a Man.”
