Spinnaker Media has acquired music discovery Web site HearItFirst.com from EMI Christian Music Group, which created and developed the site.

Under the Spinnaker umbrella, HearItFirst.com will operate as a stand-alone music service aimed at Christian music fans, and will later be expanded to cover other genres, according to a statement. EMI and Sony BMG's Provident Music Group are onboard to provide content and marketing services for the site.

The service will be led by newly appointed president and founder, Mark Adkison, formerly EMI Christian Music Group's VP of digital strategy and development. Jamie Wilson, HearItFirst.com's current manager, will join Adkison in the new venture as director of content.

Currently, HearItFirst.com has 180,000 members, clocks 600,000 visits a month and more than 1.4 million monthly page views according to EMI.
