Verizon has launched an exclusive alliance with pop group Camila that officially kicks off today, coinciding with the start of the band's U.S. headlining tour.

The Mexican pop trio will play the first of 17 dates on June 6 at the Filmore in Miami Beach and will then head to New York's Nokia Theatre, San Francisco's Grand Ballroom and Chicago's Congress Theater, among other dates, through June 29.

The Verizon alliance will allow V CAST Music customers to download six exclusive Camila tracks over the air directly into phones as full-song downloads, ringtones or ringbacks. Verizon will also offer on-site "Camila experiences," including the opportunity to participate in a Camila video via a green screen. Fans who download any of the Camila content will enter a sweepstakes to win tickets to Camila shows and also, for a chance to meet Camila in person.

Verizon is promoting the shows via spots on local radio and retail and also by sending SMS messages to custumers who have previously purchased Camila content. Camila will also conduct meet and greets at five Verizon Wireless stores during the tour.

This is Verizon's first major sponsorship of a Latin tour following their alliance with Mexican pop darlings RBD in 2007.

Camila has been the most successful pop debut act in recent memory on the
Latin charts. The group's debut album, "Todo Cambio," has sold 310,000
copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
