30 Seconds To Mars won two Kerrang! awards at the U.K. rock weekly's annual awards ceremony in London.

The Los Angeles band, fronted by actor Jared Leto, turned up tonight (Aug. 21) to collect awards for best single for "From Yesterday" (Virgin) and best international band. The awards were voted for by the magazine's readers.

Rock giants Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and Slipknot were also at the ceremony, where they were honored with special awards voted on by the magazine's judging panel.

Metallica took the Inspiration award, Slipknot was named the Kerrang! Icon band and Rage Against The Machine was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside previous winners Judas Priest, Slayer, Iron Maiden and Metallica.

U.K. heavy metal veterans Def Leppard won the classic songwriter honor. The band sent a video message from its U.S. tour.

Other winners included Welsh band Bullet For My Valentine (best British band), Machine Head (best live band) and Avenged Sevenfold who got the best album award for "Avenged Sevenfold" (WEA).

New Jersey group The Dillinger Escape Plan were awarded with the Spirit Of Independence trophy, while Coheed And Cambria won the best video trophy for "Feathers" (Columbia). Best British newcomer was Slaves To Gravity and best international newcomer went to Florida metal band Black Tide.

The ceremony was hosted by Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian at the Brewery venue in East London. It will be broadcast on digital TV channels 4Music on Aug. 24 at 9pm and Kerrang! TV on Aug. 25 at 9pm.
