Nielsen's radio monitoring system in Mexico, called Music Control (MC), is officially switching to data platformed in ENcore and BDS Express. MC clients will be given access to the new system as of the week of Jan. 12, 2009. Once the switch happens, the old system will disappear.

The new MC features BDS's improved technology, through Philips' Audio Identification Technology, including greater ability to monitor millions of unique works, rapid airplay identification monitored to the second, capability to immediately monitor newly released works, significant expansion of monitored stations and market information, and highly accurate and expedient data delivery.

MC, which monitors stations in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara, will also now monitor outlets in Tijuana.

R&R has been publishing MC's charts - Popular, Pop Español and Nacional – in its weekly Spanish-language e-mail update, Radio y Música, since January 2008 and will continue to do so.

U.S. BDS clients who want access to the new MC system can contact Sam Zesati at s.zesati@nielsenmusiccontrol.com for further details.
