For the first time in their six year chart history, urban bachata crooners Aventura have made it to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart.

The group’s new single, "Por Un Segundo," rose from No. 2 to No. 1 this week with an audience of 14 million, a 6% audience increase.

Although Aventura has always boasted chart success (their song "Mi Corazoncito" won Billboard's hot Latin Song of the Year in 2008) a No. 1 on the radio charts had eluded them.

Aventura’'s rise pushes to No. 2 - for the moment, at least - Luis Fonsi's "No Me Doy Por Vencido," which has spent 18 non-consecutive weeks on the top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Aventura's new album is due out later this spring.
