U.K. newspaper the Independent will give away an exclusive compilation featuring a selection of tracks from the series of War Child charity albums, including three from the forthcoming "Heroes" release.

Entitled "From Help to Heroes," the 20-track double album will be distributed with the Independent's Saturday edition and the Independent on Sunday this weekend (Feb. 14 and 15). A different 10-track CD will be included with the paper on each day.

Among the acts covering songs from the "Heroes" release are dance act Hot Chip with Joy Division's "Transmission," U.K. R&B artist Estelle with Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and pop-rock band the Kooks with the Kinks' "Victoria."

Also featured from the past four War Child albums are original tracks by Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Coldplay and Gorillaz.

The inaugural War Child compilation, "Help," was released in 1995 to raise money for children affected by war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

"Heroes" (Parlophone/EMI) will be released Feb. 16 in the U.K. and features 15 songs covered by a new act as nominated by the original artist.
