A number of high profile U.K. events have confirmed more major acts for the 2009 summer festival season, including Scotland's T in the Park and the Isle of Wight festival.

Newcomers to the T in the Park line-up include the Killers as headline act for Saturday, July 11 and U.K. rock acts Razorlight, Elbow, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, the Specials, James and Bloc Party. Other names include U.K. pop singer Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Welsh rock stalwarts Manic Street Preachers.

These acts join previously announced headliners Kings of Leon, Blur and Snow Patrol. T in the Park, staged by DF Concerts, will be held July 10 to 12 in Balado, in Kinross-shire.

Isle of Wight festival has added Stereophonics and Razorlight as co-headliners on Saturday, June 13. The night prior will feature dance-pop outfits the Prodigy, Pendulum, Basement Jaxx and the Ting Tings. On Sunday, June 14, the second stage, the Big Top, will be curated by the Charlatans' Tim Burgess and feature the band as headline act. The festival, organized by John Giddings and Solo Promoters, will run June 12 to 14.

Meanwhile, new touring rock festival Sonisphere has confirmed that Welsh rock outfit Bullet For My Valentine will appear at one of the event's Knebworth dates, which run Aug. 1 to 2. Coupled with this announcement, the band has cancelled its appearance at North Wales festival Hammerfest due to recording commitments. As a result, Sonisphere will be Bullet For My Valentine's only U.K. festival date in 2009.

Sonisphere was created by Kilimanjaro Live CEO Stuart Galbraith and Metallica's long-time booking agent John Jackson (K2 Agency), with support from AEG. It runs from June 20 to Aug. 2 and includes dates in Holland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland and the U.K.

Get Loaded in the Park, held in South London's Clapham Common, is to be headlined by dance duo Orbital. It will be a live comeback for the English act, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of its debut single "Chime."

The festival will be promoted by Lock N Load Events and held on the Aug. 30 U.K. Bank Holiday.

Orbital also play the Spanish electronic music festival Sonar, which is held June 18-20. Organizers have also confirmed dance diva Grace Jones will perform, along with Late of the Pier, Fever Ray, Deadmau5 and DJ Mujava.
