- Mobile entertainment firm SendMe scored a $12 million series D funding round, led by Triangle Peak Partners, along with GrandBanks Capital, Spark Capital, True Ventures and Amicus Capital. The company has licensing deals with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and EMI.

- The European on-demand streaming music service Spotify had it's servers hacked, according to a company blog post, exposing username and password data of some members.

- NPR Music's "Live in the Concert from All Songs Considered" is partnering with Pitchfork.tv to stream select concerts. The first to benefit from the deal is a performance by Antony and the Johnsons.
