U.K. pop singer Lily Allen, Scottish alt-rock act Glasvegas, reformed British post-punk band Magazine and indie-pop act Mystery Jets have been added to the line-up of the four-day FIB (Festival Internacional de Benicàssim) Heineken 09 summer festival.

It will be held for the 15th year in a row in Benicassim, on the eastern Spanish Mediterranean coast, between July 16-19, organiser Maraworld has announced. Other new additions are Fight Like Apes, TV On The Radio, Late Of The Pier, and Bell X1.

With headliners Oasis, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand and the Killers already confirmed, the Heineken-sponsored Benicassim international festival is shaping up as one of the most important Anglo-American dominated European summer festivals so far confirmed for this year.

Also in the line-up are Paul Weller, the Psychedelic Furs, White Lies, Friendly Fires, the Bishops and Boys Noize, as well as several rated Spanish acts including Josele Santiago, Nacho Vegas, and We Are Standard.

Maraworld expects attendances to be at least as big as last year, when 50,000 people a day attended. With official online ticket sales points in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom, more than half the fans at Benicassim have been northern European in recent years.

The festival site, between Barcelona and Valencia, has the advantage of a large camping area beside extensive Mediterranean beaches, plus near-guaranteed hot and sunny weather.

Benicassim's best-known organizer outside Spain is Vince Power, who previously owned Mean Fiddler and staged the Reading Festival, and is the man behind the Hop Farm Festival in Kent.
