-Teena Marie’s new single, “Can’t Last a Day,” becomes available April 7 on iTunes. Featuring Faith Evans, the song is the lead single from Marie’s thirteenth album and the first for Stax Records/Concord Music Group: “Congo Square,” due June 9. This year marks Marie’s 30th anniversary in the music industry.

-Natalie Cole will headline the 17th annual Capital Jazz Fest (June 5-7;
Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland). The R&B and contemporary jazz lineup includes the reunion of the four original members of En Vogue, Leela James, Rahsaan Patterson, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, Lalah Hathaway and Pieces of a Dream.

-E1 Music (formerly Koch) has signed singer/songwriter Vivian Green. The
first release from her three-album deal is slated for summer 2009. Green
previously recorded two albums through Sony: 2002’s gold-certified “A Love Story” and 2005’s “Vivian.”

-Jive Records, in association with producer Nate “Danja” Hills’ N.A.R.S. (New Age Rock Stars) Records, has signed singer/songwriter Kevin Cossom. A native of Orlando, Cossom has worked with R. Kelly, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Trey Songz.
