Univision Radio has launched a partnership with Smirnoff Ice to produce and promote a series of summer concert events aimed at the Latin marketplace.

The concert events, called Fiestas Chulas, are part of a national Smirnoff Ice promotion and will be sponsored by Diageo, the makers of Smirnoff Ice.

The events kick off May 7 with a launch party in Miami Beach and the concert events formally start May 22 with a show by Baby Bash at the Pavilion at Sunset Station in San Antonio, which fits some 2,000 people.

Valeria Gastaldi, former member of Argentine pop group Bandana will open that show while singer/songwriter Jeremías is slated to perform in later concerts.

To date, there are two more concerts confirmed: a July 3 show at the intimate Gibson showroom in Miami with singer/songwriter Jeremias, and the Los Angeles event will take place Sept. 11 at the El Rey Theatre, with Valeria Gastaldi opening for Ozomatli.

The concerts are by invitation only and fans are able to win tickets online at coolcontodos.com and via radio contests.
