Michael Jackson's death has sparked an extraordinary sales drive in Australia, while the singer has 49 singles in the top 200 in the U.K. and nine albums in the top 75.

The U.K.'s Official Charts Co said that Jackson's combined sales for albums and singles in the seven days up to the end of July 4 totaled almost 600,000. "Man In the Mirror" is No. 2 in the singles chart behind pop act Cascada, but Jackson did make No. 1 in the albums chart with "The Essential," with four other sets in the top 10: "Number Ones" at No. 3, "King of Pop" at No. 5, "Thriller" at No. 6 and "Off the Wall" at No. 10.

On Australia's latest ARIA albums chart, published Sunday, Jackson has claimed the top three best-selling albums with "The Essential Michael Jackson" (Epic), "Number Ones" and "Thriller," respectively. It marks the first time an artist has achieved all three top charting positions.

Were it not for the "Jackson effect," Adelaide urban group Hilltop Hoods would have scored a third successive week at No. 1 with "State Of The Art" (Golden Era/Universal). As it turns out, "State of the Art" has been pushed into fourth place, but the platinum-certified (70,000 units) album has the distinction of being the first Australian album to spend multiple weeks at the top spot since Silverchair's "Young Modern" (Eleven A Music Company/EMI) in 2007.

Jackson's legacy has a remarkable spread across Australia's sales charts. Fifteen Jackson albums - including three with the Jacksons or the Jackson 5 - are placed in the top 100, and six DVDs land in the top 10 of the national DVD chart, led by "Michael Jackson: Number Ones" and "Michael Jackson: Live In Bucharest" at 1-2 respectively.

The singles chart has a distinct Jackson look about it, with 14 songs re-entering the top 40. Four singles are in the top 10, led by "Thriller" at No. 3, "Black or White" at No. 6, "Billie Jean" at No. 7 and "Man In the Mirror" at No. 8. The Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" (Interscope) and Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" (Interscope) were the week's best selling singles.

A total of 35 Jackson singles -- three of which are with the Jackson 5 - find a home in the ARIA top 100 singles chart.
