Sony Music Entertainment's Web properties now rank at No. 10 among worldwide online music destinations, according to from Web traffic monitoring firm Comscore.

In June of this year, the combined network of artist Web sites collectively gained 33 million visits and almost 20 million unique users worldwide.

According to Sony, new features such as lyrics pages, fan loyalty programs, and on-demand streaming is driving this growth, and that additional features will be added in the near future to capitalize on the momentum. It's also reaching out to advertisers like AT&T, Old Navy and Virgin Mobile to place ads on the sites as well.

The news comes on the heels of a May announcement from Universal Music Group that it ranked eighth on Comscore's list of music websites, pointing to a broader trend that labels are aggressively positioning their network of individual artists Web sites as both consumer-facing services and brand-friendly advertising opportunities.
