Fresh off the heels of its new licensing deal with YouTube, Warner Music Group has named Outrigger Media as a key advertising sales partner.

Under the deal, Outrigger will work with Warner marketing staff to sell advertising and other sponsorship opportunities around the label's artists and content online. This includes Warner-operated sites as well as third party sites like YouTube.

Warner's recent YouTube deal allows it to sell its own advertising around the music videos posted to the service. When the news broke, Warner said it would likely partner with other companies to help it sell that advertising inventory rather than develop an in-house ad sales staff. Outrigger is the first company named to fill that role.

But don't expect Outrigger to limit its activities to YouTube. Warner is interested in creating expanded advertising and particularly sponsorship opportunities around its artist's Web sites and other platforms that feature the label's content, particularly video.
