- Fonovisa duranguense artist and MTV Tr3s "ReMexa" host Jazmin Lopez has affiliated with SESAC Latina. Lopez, whose 2009 "Jazmin" album was a set of covers, is planning a new album this quarter with the goal of including some original co-writes.

- Bilingual entertainment channel Mun2 is stepping up its sports programming, Multichannel News reports. The channel will unveil a half-hour weekly sports recap show covering soccer but also "sports and athletes favored by young Latinos" and the Winter Olympics. Also in the works are sponsored sports-related interstitials and Saturday night soccer matches beginning Feb. 20. The sports push comes in the wake of the Latino youth channel's exclusive English-language broadcast of the Mexico vs. USA World Cup qualifying match last year, which brought mun2 its best ratings ever.

- Border Media Partners continues shedding Spanish-language radio stations in Texas. Following the sale of Austin's KFON-AM for a reported $1.4 million last week to REO Radio Group, Border is >selling regional Mexican KWOW/Waco to Waco Entertainment Group for $1.3 million. Border Media Partners is heading into a trust and selling stations to reduce its debt load.
